Not all single-line metering devices operate in the same way
SKF MonoFlex uses several operating principles, including initial lubrication, relubrication and dynamic delivery. These differences affect when a metering element receives and discharges lubricant during the main line’s pressure cycle.
Therefore, when replacing one product series with another, do not consider only the number of outlets or thread size. Match the system’s operating principle, activation/pressure-relief pressure and the delivered quantity at each point.
The delivered quantity must suit each lubrication point
MonoFlex devices are available with various metered quantities. Too little delivery may not meet the lubrication requirement, while too much can cause excess grease, increased heat or lubricant waste.
When an assembly has multiple outlets, check the metered quantity of each outlet; do not assume that all outlets have the same flow merely because they are on the same block.
Oil, fluid grease and grease have their own limits
Depending on the product series, MonoFlex can work with oil, fluid grease or grease up to a specified NLGI grade. Lubricant viscosity and consistency directly affect the device’s filling, discharge and return. When changing the grease or oil type, recheck the limits of the exact product series instead of retaining the existing pump settings by default.
