Correct bearing installation directly affects rotational accuracy, equipment life and reliable machinery operation. For tapered-bore bearings, H3136 is an important accessory for mounting bearings securely and concentrically on cylindrical shafts while simplifying assembly and maintenance.
YHE H3136 is a standard H31-series adapter sleeve for mounting self-aligning bearings with a 1:12 tapered bore on a 160 mm cylindrical shaft. Standard dimensions include a 160 mm shaft diameter, 180 mm nominal bearing seat diameter, 131 mm length and M180×3 thread, supplied with a KM36 lock nut and MB36 locking washer.
Overview of YHE H3136
H3136 is a tubular component with a 1:12 tapered outer surface and cylindrical bore. Tightening the lock nut moves the tapered-bore bearing along the sleeve, producing even pressure between the bearing inner ring and shaft without machining a tapered shaft.
Using an adapter sleeve simplifies shaft manufacture. A correctly sized cylindrical shaft and H3136 provide accurate mounting and make later bearing replacement faster.
YHE H3136 suits corresponding self-aligning tapered-bore bearings, including spherical roller bearing series such as 22236K or 23136K depending on manufacturer design. NSK, NTN-SNR and Timken documentation identifies H3136 for bearings with a 180 mm tapered bore on a 160 mm shaft.

Construction and operating principle
A complete H3136 set normally includes the sleeve, KM36 lock nut and MB36 locking washer. The sleeve transmits force between shaft and bearing inner ring, the nut applies axial force, and the washer prevents loosening under vibration.
When correctly tightened, the bearing moves along the 1:12 taper. Axial movement becomes radial pressure, clamping the inner ring around the sleeve and the sleeve onto the shaft to create a secure, concentric connection for heavy loads.
Key advantages of YHE H3136
Because downtime affects plant productivity, maintenance-saving components are valuable. YHE H3136 offers several practical benefits.
It mounts tapered-bore bearings on cylindrical shafts while maintaining good concentricity, making it common in bearing housings and precision transmission systems.
Its standardized design simplifies replacement. Technicians can release the locking assembly using the correct procedure without removing or remachining the entire shaft.
The longitudinal slot permits slight contraction during tightening and distributes pressure around the shaft, improving grip and reducing slip under varying loads.
The common H3136 dimensions allow use with many standardized self-aligning tapered-bore bearings, providing flexibility for replacement selection.
Industrial applications

Steel rolling plants

Wood-plant conveyors

Conveyor rollers
YHE H3136 is used mainly with spherical roller and other corresponding tapered-bore bearings. Its secure mounting on 160 mm shafts suits many heavy industries.
Cement: conveyors, industrial fans, crushers and drives operate continuously under heavy loads; adapter sleeves simplify bearing replacement during maintenance.
Steel: rolling shafts, guide rollers and drive assemblies face vibration; correctly installed H3136 provides stable bearing-to-shaft connection.
Paper and MDF: presses, guide rolls and large rotating shafts commonly use self-aligning bearings with adapter sleeves to maintain concentricity and reduce maintenance time.
Mining: crushers, vibrating screens, conveyors and material-handling equipment face impact loads; adapter sleeves simplify inspection and replacement.
