Description
For monorail forged-chain conveyors, the GIS (Grease Injection System) injects grease into the trolley rollers through the lubrication unit while the conveyor is running.
The GIS system accommodates different conveyor configurations and applications: lubrication of chain trolley rollers or trolley rollers on power-and-free conveyors.
The GIS system for trolley rollers can lubricate two or more trolley rollers simultaneously.Applications

Operating principle
The GIS lubrication system operates only while the conveyor is running.
During the lubrication phase, as a roller passes in front of the unit, the retrieval system is activated so that the injection head mechanically engages with the roller.
It follows the movement of the line while injecting the correct quantity of grease.
At the end of the injection cycle, the head and retrieval system move back. The unit returns to its initial position, ready for a new injection cycle on the next roller.

One system, two lubrication units
SKF offers two different lubrication units for trolley rollers: COBRA and GVP
COBRA system
GIS with a COBRA unit is a straightforward solution for lubricating chain rollers, especially in heavy industry and harsh environments. The movements required for the injection cycle are controlled mechanically and pneumatically. The standard version is activated manually, while some versions provide automatic electrical activation. Monitoring functions can also be added.
GVP system
GIS with a GVP unit is an advanced solution for lubricating chain rollers or trolley rollers. It automatically manages and controls lubrication cycles. The GIS system adapts to a wide range of chain speeds, conveyor configurations and roller positions.
