1. What is high-temperature lubricating grease?
High-temperature lubricating grease is a category of industrial grease manufactured by many well-known lubricant companies. It lubricates equipment and protects against corrosion, while maintaining performance even in high-temperature working environments.
High-temperature greases have a durable structure and are suitable for bearings, rotary and oscillating joints, and heavily loaded bearings. The grease is highly effective at preventing bearing damage caused by severe vibration or shock loads.

2. Components of high-temperature bearing grease
High-temperature lubricating grease is made from many components, including three main components: base oil, thickener, and anti-rust additives (water resistance, heat resistance, and corrosion protection).
2.1 Base oil
About 60% of high-temperature grease is produced from synthetic base oil. The remainder consists of semi-synthetic and mineral base oils.
2.2 Thickeners
Today, bearing-grease manufacturers generally use two main types of thickener:
– Soap-based thickeners: produced through saponification and formulated to give grease higher temperature resistance.
– Wax-based thickeners: solid, high-molecular-weight hydrocarbon products divided into two types:
+ Paraffin compounds: low melting point.
+ Ozokerite compounds: high melting point.
Hydrocarbon (wax-based) thickeners are now used more widely because they are more stable and can flexibly change between thicker and thinner consistencies.
2.3 Anti-rust additives
As with industrial oil, additives play a critical role in high-temperature grease and largely determine its quality. Additives make up 0.5% of high-temperature bearing grease. Common grease additives include:

3. Applications of high-temperature lubricating grease
